You’ve been revelling in absolute bliss with your sex toys. Glorious orgasms. Plenty of lube and wetness. Heaven.

But when the fun is over… it’s crucial that you clean your sex toy. I know, I know, it’s not exactly thrilling to talk about this topic. But it’s an important one.

How to clean sex toys?

Sex toys can harbour dirty bacteria that can give you a lot of problems (I’m talking about infections). We won’t go into all the details, because, quite frankly you can easily avoid this by taking a little bit of time to keep your toys clean.

Before you even buy your toy, take note of what it’s made of… determine how it’s washed.

Usually you can read this on the product description. If may say splash proof, water-proof or even submersible.

Splash proof means it can’t be submerged in a lot of water, but it can be washed carefully. Water-proof usually means it’s pretty much water-proof and water won’t do anything to it. You can usually wash it easily without worrying about doing damage.

The best of all is submersible which means you can literally hold is right under water and give it a good scrub from top to bottom. It’s important to check this out before you start washing it.

The material that the sex toy is made of can also affect how you wash it. Let’s take a closer look at how to treat toys based on their material type…

Is it silicone, glass, steel or wood and motorised?

Wash it with a mild soap and damp cloth to keep it clean.

Is it silicone, pyrex, steel or stone and not motorised?

Wash it with very hot water and a mild damp soap, or you can even put put this in the dish washer without dishwasher soap.

Is it Cyber skin?

Use a little soap and some warm water to clean. Be careful because too many suds can damage this sensitive material.

Is it hard plastic, elastomer, thermoplastic elastomer (TPR) or jelly rubber?

These porous materials can harbour bacteria and sexually transmitted infections. Wash these toys with soap and water. Ideally, if sharing these toys with a partner use a condom.

When you’ve finished cleaning your toy, dry it off with a clean paper towel. You could use a clean towel, but beware that when sex toys are wet, especially rubber one, they will attract ‘fluff’ that sticks to them when wet.

If you can, just leave it stood up in the open air to dry. Once it’s nice and dry, store it in a case or a bag to protect it and keep it clean for next time.

I regularly get readers asking me where they can buy the Hitachi magic wand in the UK. Sadly this toy is no longer available in the UK today but fear not!! There is a great alternative I will tell you about.

Hitachi Magic Wand back story

The Hitachi Magic Wand was originally brought out in the 1970’s as a massager for your muscles. You read it correctly, for your muscles.

Here’s what to look out for:

1. The design and packaging.

The original hitachi magic wand is white with a blue coloured neck like in the photo above.

2. On-off button

The genuine hitachi magic wand has a rectangular shaped blue plate surrounding the on-off button. It says “magic wand original”.

Fakes often tend to have an oval shaped plate, with slightly different named brands on it so that you don’t realise.

Basically the faster the speed, the louder it gets. So if you want to stay super quiet, only use a slower speed.

What about the controls?

This deluxe wand is really easy to use, there is a single control wheel. To switch it on you just slide the switch up and down. This also controls the speed. The more you slide up the switch, the faster the vibrations. It’s easy to slow down by sliding the switch down again.

I had to write a review on the door jam sex swing by Sportsheets because it’s such a good addition to your sex life. The sex swing has come a long way over the past few years and this little contraption is really well designed. Let me talk you through it and then you can have a read of what other people are saying about it and make your own mind up before you buy.

What’s in the box?

The box included the sex swing itself, along with a padded seat, foot supports and hand grips.

What’s it made of?

The sex swing is made of polyester fabric, polypropylene webbing, plastic hardware, nickel free metal, galvanized metal and polyethylene foam. It is obviously made of high quality materials and very strong and sturdy.

How easy is it set up?

The box itself was harder to open than the actual swing was to get set up. It’s fairly self explanatory. Make sure you use it over a solid door. There are foot rests and hand straps that are adjustable. Bars secure the straps over your door. Slip them over, and then close the door. It’s really simple to use.

What about getting into it?

There are mixed views on this. I found it easy to get into, but some have found it a little awkward to get into. Once actually into it, it feels comfortable, secure and very sexy. You may feel a little wary of getting into it at first, that’s pretty normal. Know that this swing is designed to hold you over a solid door, and it supports up to 325 pounds.

You can get it into the sex swing yourself, but it is much easier with your partner guiding you into the stirrups too.

Top Tip: the first time you set it up, work out what height your partner thrusts at so you can adjust the swing to this height. The higher it goes, the harder it can be to get into at first.

What’s the sex swing experience like?

Hey guys, this is  my review of the Tracey Cox SuperSex G-Spot vibrator.

When you receive your Tracey Cox Super Sex G-spot vibrator through the post (in your discreetly labelled parcel I might add), you receive the vibrator nicely packaged in a classy and well designed box. It’s not remotely tacky looking, and it instantly gives you the feeling that you’ve bought a higher end sex toy rather than something cheap. Even though the price isn’t high.

How does it work?

To use this vibrator there are two build in push buttons on the bottom. You press the bottom button to switch it on, and the top button that has a line on it, is the function button to change the controls. Keep pressing the function button until you find the setting that wows you.

To switch it off, just press the bottom power button again, and it will switch off.

How loud is it?

You can see Annabelle Knight show you this vibrator in action in her video review. To get an idea of how loud it is, watch this (below). But if you don’t want to watch it, this vibrator is nice and quiet. It has a quiet hum to it, and I’ve used vibrators that are a heck of a lot louder than this one.  Plus most of the time you’re using it, it’s going to be inside you.

How is it powered?

The Tracey Cox SuperSex G-Spot vibrator is powered by a single AA battery. It’s inserted by untwisted the end of the vibrator and just popping it in the right way round. Because this toy is waterproof, remember to make sure that you do twist the lid back on fully so the insides don’t get damaged by water.

This is really the only downside to this vibrator for me. I prefer toys that can be mains powered (charged up) and batteries are a right pain. BUT saying that, battery toys are always a lot cheaper, so if price is something you are conscious of, a battery powered toy can be a lot more affordable than a mains powered toy.

What size is it?

I think this Tracey Cox Supersex G-spot vibrator is a really good size and it was ideal for me. It has an insertable length of 4 inches and 4 inches of girth at it’s widest point. It’s not too big, and not too small, the designers have got it right. With it’s wave and curved tip, it hits all the right places!

How good is it?

There are 7 different functions and 3 different speeds on the Tracey Cox SuperSex G-Spot vibrator so there are lots of options to choose from to keep you entertained. Altogether it has 10 functions. It gave me incredible G-spot orgasms, and that’s definitely to do with it’s shape, size and functionality.

What are the bad points?

My only negative is that it’s battery powered as opposed to mains chargeable. But, you can’t always have everything and if it was mains powered, it would also cost a lot more to buy.

What are the good points?

1. It’s velvety smooth, no seams and feels like it’s more expensive than it really is (£19.99 at time of writing plus free delivery)

2. It’s completely waterproof so you can use it in the shower or the bath without concern about damaging it, as well as making cleaning it a breeze.

3. I think the Tracey Cox SuperSex G-Spot vibrator is a really powerful toy. It definitely hits the spot, right where you want it! The controls are nice and easy, so if you feel like less vibration or more vibration, you can just increase or decrease the speed, or alter the pattern.

Are there any bad points?

One bad but kind of obvious point here is that you do need to assemble this swing, although assembling it is fairly straightforward. But it does mean that it’s going to be up until you disassemble it. If you have a dedicated area for it that’s great.

BUT if you don’t want something that needs assembly and can be used and put away in seconds, consider the Door Jam Sex Swing I recently reviewed. This one goes over a door and doesn’t take up any room.

The film received so much criticism that I was a little concerned they wouldn’t make the next two books. There were also rumours that Jamie Dornan’s wife had said she didn’t want him to do anymore of the films.

And it’s great news that Jamie Dornan is back as Christian next year. I always find it too weird when lead roles are switched with a different actor half way through the series. I know he wasn’t perfect, but it was good. He is definitely hot, and he did a great job of playing mysterious Christian.

What does it look like?

I always love the design of Lelo toys, they’re what you call ergonomically designed. So they just ‘fit’ you and your womanly curves. Nicely. Plus this makes them look classy and feminine too.

To be honest I’ve never been a fan of sex toys in black, ever. But unusually I really love the Lelo Insignia Soraya in black. The gold adds a touch of sheer class to it. I also love the purple version which is the one I opted for.

How does it work?

The Lelo Insignia Soraya has two separate motors which gives it a lot of strength in both vibrating areas, the rabbit bit and the main insertable section.

There’s the plus button for switching it on and increasing speed, the middle button is the function button and the minus button is for switching it off and lowering speed.

How big is the Lelo Insignia Soraya?

The Soraya is a nice size at 8.5 inches long with an insertable length of 5 inches. It’s widest circumference is 4.1 inches.

How is it powered?

It’s mains rechargeable! Yes! I love mains powered sex toys because of the ease of just plugging them in, charging them up and away you go. Gone are the days (in higher end toys anyway) of messing around with batteries that last for about 10 minutes before they’ve run out.

The Lelo Insignia Soraya takes around 2 hours to fully charge it and it last for 4 hours of vibrating time.

What are some of the features?

It has a travel lock so you know it won’t end up buzzing in your suitcase during security checks. To lock it you just hold down the plus and minus buttons together, it flashes to show you it’s locked. When you try turning it on it then won’t turn on until you unlock it.

The Lelo Insignia Soraya is completely waterproof so you can use it in the bath with no problem. It’s bizarre at first submerging it under water when it’s mains charged – but don’t worry, it doesn’t break it! The special seal where the mains lead plugs in is covered by the silicone.

How loud is it?

Well are you are you ready for this?  What can you expect from a high end sex toy like the Lelo Insignia Soraya?

It is virtually silent.

I kid you not. You can check out the video of Annabelle Knight on Lovehoney demonstrating this for an idea of noise level. I have used some ridiculously loud toys in my time, and this one is like a little whisper. Shhhhh.

Other reviewers have said that there is no way to check the level of charge. I can see this feature being added in future but it is a little unfair to criticise it for this, seeing as you can’t check the charge level of a battery-operated toy either.

The fact that you can just plug it in and charge it up is pretty damn cool to me. You can also use it whilst it’s on charge, if you really wanted to.

Another reviewer said the free badge was pointless. What are you seriously saying you wouldn’t wear your Lelo badge with pride? How dare you! (joking a little here).

When you order a sex toy online, does anyone else know that’s what you’ve ordered?

I get asked this question a lot.

What shows up on your bank statement?

And how does the parcel look when its delivered?

Will your old neighbour Ted know that the parcel he’s just signed for when you weren’t in is your new dildo?

Your bank statements

The vast majority of online sex shops will not show on your bank statement who you have actually ordered from, as they use a trading name.

For example Lovehoney says LH Trading. That could be anyone.

It’s not immediately obvious.

Your parcel

This got delivered next door. No clues about what’s inside.

Your parcel arrives plain and there is no way of telling what’s inside it. It does not have “sex toy!” written anywhere on it.

There is usually a returns address which again, is not the address of where you ordered from. Like the above example, it may say return to “LH Trading” but that’s about it. It could be from anyone.

I have ordered parcels many times from online toy shops that have gone next door, it’s not ideal! But I don’t mind really because there is no way of telling from the box what is inside.

What is a sex selfie stick?

I’m not usually remotely surprised by sex toys. The sex selfie stick is one of the few that really did surprise me!

Because it’s so much more than a vibrator/bullet sex toy.

It has a camera and a light inside it. And it comes with software.

Yes software!

In brief it’s a sex toy that streams video, so that you can record and share your extreme close up intimate self-pleasuring and broadcast it to your chosen one far away (or even in the same room as you). I’m talking extreme intimacy, inside you and wherever else you choose to show.

Some people are raving about this new hot toy, others are rather appalled by it.

So as soon as I saw the sex selfie stick, I knew I had to review it.

It’s so far been featured on the Huffington Post, Cosmo and the Independent. It has people talking that’s for sure.

So let’s dive in and find out what all the fuss is about.

In this review I’m discussing the Svakom Siime Sex Selfish Stick HD Camera Endoscope Vibrator. That’s one hell of a name.

And it’s the world’s first internal camera vibrator.

What’s in the box?

When you order your sex selfie stick you receive the vibrator itself, along with a draw-string storage bag, USB cable, software disc and instructions.

What does it look like?

The sex selfie stick comes in two colours, black and purple. To me the purple is more of a burgandy red colour than purple. But it’s still a nice colour even if it’s not true purple. I prefer it to the black.

It can be inserted up to 4 inches, and has 3.2 inches of girth.

How is it powered?

The sex selfie stick is rechargeable and is charged via USB on your computer. It has ‘ultra fast charging’ and only takes 1.5 hours, for a 8 hours of actual use.

When you receive your sex selfie stick you will need to charge it up first, which is a bit of a pain but one that I could live with. It’s charged by removing the pin covering the charging hole, inserting the charger and plugging it into a USB port.

Make sure you put the pin back in, as this keeps it completely waterproof.

How is it controlled?

To switch the vibrator on, press the S button for a couple of seconds. This makes the sex selfie stick burst into life. To switch between vibration patterns you just press the arrows to go up and down the available settings.

To switch the sex selfie stick off, just press and hold down the S button again and the vibrations will stop.

What are the features?

This vibrator is sooo much more than a vibrator.

The sex selfie stick is completely waterproof and submergible, so you can safely put it under water and use it in the bath. You can see Annabelle Knight demonstrating the sex selfie stick in the video below.

It has 5 functions to choose from so has a few different options to experiment with. There are some great patterns to play with. Ones that go fast and some that are slower.

There is even ‘intelligent mode’ which is pretty cool and in this mode the sex selfie stick automatically gradually gets faster, so it’s great for teasing yourself!! I loved that. You get into intelligent mode by pressing the S button in the centre again.

Using the camera

To use the HD camera and built in LEDs, you will need to be near a computer. It doesn’t matter if you have a Mac or PC computer. For PCs you will need to just install the software that it comes with. If you’re using a Mac, it works already with the built in Facetime.

Remove the pin cover, and plug in the USB cable, then plug the other end into your computer.

Then press the camera button, and it will immediately switch on the camera and the light. You know when the camera is on because it’s all lit up. (All of this is in the instructions that you can follow when you receive yours).

Remember – don’t use this near water when using the camera feature. It is waterproof only with it’s pin inside and not plugged into your computer!

When it’s switched on, open Facetime or the program you are using, and you will then be able to show on there whatever you point your camera at! It’s well worth watching Annabelle Knight’s demonstration to see this in action.

Does it work?

As a vibrator, it is very powerful. You always tend to get a lot more power anyway in rechargeable toys compared to battery powered ones so that is expected. The vibration patterns are really cool, and I especially love the intelligent mode that starts off slower and gets faster.

Despite it’s power, it is also really quiet and you could use this without someone in the next room hearing you.

The HD camera and light are definitely an awesome feature for couples who are far away, and close together too. Other reviewers on the Lovehoney website just wanted to have a closer look at what goes on inside them when they orgasm and this is also good for that too.

For couples far apart, it’s a brilliant way of sharing intimacy virtually. And is the next best thing to being together in person.

What about lubricant?

It’s always important to use the right kind of lube. You should go for a water-based one so as not to damage your sex selfie stick. Oil based ones can react with silicone coatings. When you’ve invested in a high end toy like this one, the last thing you want to do is damage it with cheap lube.

I’m a big fan of the Tracey Cox super sex orgasm gel (£6.99). It’s a great water-based lubricant, feels very natural and lasts ages.

Remember to clean your toy after each use with some mild soapy water.

What are the pros?

As a vibrator the many different functions, speeds and patterns. The patterns can be moved between quickly, and the speed increased and slowed down with a quick press of the arrows.

The intelligent mode is awesome, and I love the way you can tease yourself with increasing vibration intensity slowly.

It’s HD camera feature and LED light is great! Plus it comes with software for PC users. The camera is high quality and very clear.

It’s water-proof which is great (but not waterproof without the pin cover in) so you can vibrate in the bath, shower and keep it nice and clean without worry of water damage.

The material is gorgeously soft and yet it feels well-built and strong. I also love the purple/burgundy colour.

What are the cons?

Other reviewers have mentioned are that they wished it had clearer instructions. To me it is fairly self explanatory so if you are already good with technology, and the people this is aimed at are fully up to speed with it so you shouldn’t have any problems.

One person said they wished it was longer. It has an insertable length of 4 inches. I can see why they would like it longer but I feel it’s features make up for that! Size isn’t everything hey?!

Overall verdict

I loved the sex selfie stick, it’s especially good for couples who have distance between them but want to share some intimacy. Get yours now, see what you think and leave a comment!

“How often should you clean your sex toys?”

It’s really really important to clean your sex toys each and every time you use them.

The simple answer to this question is – every time.

If you don’t clean them, they can harbour lots of nasty bacteria which can grow, and give you infections and make you unwell.

It is a chore, but an essential one. As soon as possible after you’ve finished using your toy, wash it in the sink in some warm water with a little bit of mild soap.

You don’t want any gunk drying up on or in the toy. Get in amongst any nooks and crannies to make sure there is nothing left in there that could be left unclean and grow bacteria.

Plus the very thought of using an unwashed sex toy is pretty gross. Respect yourself, respect your toys and keep them clean.

Ideally you want to air dry your toys because many of them, when wet will attract and stick to the slightest bit of dust around! This is so annoying, they’re like dust magnets.

Coconut oil has many fantastic uses! At room temperature coconut oil is usually hard, so to use it spoon some out of your jar first, warm it up in your hands and it will melt nicely.

Uses for coconut oil

It’s 100% natural and has no other chemicals added to it.

It can be used for eating and cooking with, and is jam-packed full of vitamins.
